I've personally been referring family & friends to Linear Logic for over four years now. Enthusiastically.

Who knows how many ScanGauges I've sold indirectly through word of mouth, MetroMPG.com and then EM.

Ben had the bright idea that maybe it was time to support the forum by offering them directly to EM members & the general public. Seemed like it was worth a shot.

Daox 12-11-2009 12:15 PM

Wooohoo!

Yeah, they used to be $150 everywhere, now they're all $160 or more.

MetroMPG 12-11-2009 12:51 PM

Just for giggles:

I was always a bit... perturbed ... by this image of the SG in action on the Linear Logic web site:

Photoshop to the rescue! For the version of the image on EcoModder's ScanGauge info page: :)

...the two pictures should be labelled:

(bottom) After Ecomodder!

I came to this thread for the very reason of commenting on that image. Much better!

Those numbers are pretty close to what my car would read at that speed. :D

Someone asked via PM:

Quote:

I understand they're about (when?) to introduce an updated model (SGIII?), so am "sitting" the fence for the moment.

If you get any "official" word that you are permitted to distribute, please DO let all of us here know!
Sure, we asked already and the official word from Linear Logic is no imminent "SG3":

We don't have any plans for a SG3 right now, so it would probably be at least a year.

janvos39 01-06-2010 03:01 PM

Anyone ? Is there a scangauge available for Ford Focus Diesel 2003

SVOboy 01-06-2010 04:09 PM

Is that a Euro model? If it has the same plug as the US models I believe the SGII will work.

gone-ot 01-06-2010 04:59 PM

As a rule of thumb:

* GM cars and light trucks use SAE J1850 VPW (Variable Pulse Width Modulation).
* Chrysler products and all European and most Asian imports use ISO 9141 circuitry.
* Fords use SAE J1850 PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) communication patterns.

J1850 PWM--The connector should have metallic contacts in pins 2, 4, 5, 10, and 16.

Gotta get my hands on this. I'm just not sure if i'm going to do the obduino or buy this ready made one.

kstruve 05-22-2010 07:16 PM

Do these Scangauges have the X-Gauge built in?

gone-ot 05-22-2010 07:18 PM

...yes, but I've never attempted to use anything but the 'stock' displays.

They do indeed

Ryland 05-22-2010 07:36 PM

I am very impressed with mine! even tho I do not have a car new enough to use it I have used it a number of times already while going used car shopping with friends to check the check engine light and gas mileage of the car they were looking at, while barrowing other peoples vehicles and to check for problems on friends cars, so it's been worth it so far.

trdfreak03 07-13-2010 12:20 PM

any big difference from the original scangauge?... anyone know the differences?

Daox 07-13-2010 12:25 PM

The size, the SG1 is pretty large. Here is a full description of differences:

that thing is a monster lol

SVOboy 07-13-2010 03:20 PM

Looks like it was designed in the 80s, too

dcb 07-13-2010 04:39 PM

It may have been designed to fit a standard case, which are typically bigger than absolutely necessary for a specific project.

ScanGauge birthday party!

Sign me up for another one, in the ecomodder birthday giveaway. I have one, that stays in my wife's car. I could use another for my vehicle too!! Just about the best tool to quickly check most basic things while you're driving, and keep you up on coasting, try to get a better TFE. Dale

J-rod 12-23-2010 09:22 PM

Just ordered mine. The December sale price is great! Anyone who's been holding out now's the time. Cheapest you'll find them new by far.

Backtobasics 12-24-2010 10:00 AM

I got mine a week ago. The price was phenominal!

epa5epa 12-28-2010 11:28 AM

I got mine yesterday. Thanks Darin & Ecomodder

MetroMPG 12-28-2010 12:05 PM

You're welcome. Enjoy! You'll have fun with it.

Kincurd 03-24-2011 01:24 PM

Finally decided to order one.

Cars been paid off for a few months now, and there's just no excuse not to get started making my car more fuel efficient. Plus today on my way to work, I started wondering if there is a more ideal MPH I could be going, fuel-wise. I know 60mph is better than 80mph, at least for trips in the mountains, but that's a given.

Also, my MPH gauge is apparently way off, like around 5 mph shy of what speed I'm actually going, according to those radars you see here and there that advertise your speed. Having an accurate MPH gauge is also a nice bonus.

It's sort of like having a weight scale at home. I lost 40 lbs (not just for fuel efficiency) since last summer, and what helped keep me going is checking my weight daily and seeing it gradually go down. This gauge works the same away, albeit, a bit more expensively up front.

deathtrain 08-13-2011 11:45 PM

I just ordered the UG for my GF b-day. ( she is almost a w*fe because we have lived in the same house for 5 years.) here's the funny part.... she lost her job, going back to school, and so money is tight around here. Her school and home is about 70 miles round trip and she drives an 06 charger R/T (5.7 v8) I refuse to let her drive anymore because she starts to break about 10 feet before stops signs then almost floors it after. It gives me a hart attack. I am praying this will help her save money thus put money back into her schooling.

Side note. any one know of any scholarships that are not well known?

Hi Metro
Any idea about the Scan gauge II could fit into my car. I miss the instant mpg in my OBD panel
Its Maruti Suzuki Ritz Ldi, Euro IV, Disel, 1.348 Fiat Multijet engine (Popularly known as Suzuki splash)

MetroMPG 01-08-2012 12:51 PM

Hi sayantan -

Sorry, I'm not sure if your car's computer is "OBD-II" compatible. Is there a forum for your particular car model? That might be one place to find out... or ask at the dealership.

Sprayed 01 02-07-2012 11:24 AM

Are these still for sale for $149?

MetroMPG 02-07-2012 12:16 PM

Yes.

Sprayed 01 02-09-2012 03:42 PM

MetroMPG 02-10-2012 11:40 AM

Hi - you should have the tracking info now.

jrscteg 02-10-2012 12:18 PM

Is there an obd1 option? I have a 1995 honda civic cx

MetroMPG 02-10-2012 12:30 PM

Your only option is something like the MPGguino.
