ScanGauge II issue at full throttle
I installed a ScanGuage a while back. Works great so far but I just noticed an issue at full throttle.
I know we should never use Full throttle (only drink it from a can). The problem is that at full throttle the GPH goes to 0. Seems this issue starts at about 3/4 throttle. Has anyone else seen this issue? Have I found the holy grail of fuel economy here, by just pushing accelerator to the floor? |
You may have found a SG programming error, but I'm pretty sure it's not the holy grail ;). I've never tried WOT with SG displaying GPH. I'll try it today to confirm/refute your observation.

I tested your observation with my SG in my wife's '06 Elantra, both going downhill and uphill. GPH climbed steadily to the 10 and 11 GPH range with wide open throttle. I never saw 0 GPH.
Interestingly, my average fuel economy for my driving today was just about average. Despite the WOT, I was still at 25 mpg midway to my destination, and 32 mpg at my destination - the same FE as I normally achieve on that drive. |
