ScanGauge II not reading fuel cutoff
it does work but if i change any of the 4 gauges it stops reading fuel cutoff. I know the 8th Gen Civics need the "LP" gauge up to read cutoff and its up but i dont know whats wrong. i have to reset the thing and re-do all my settings for the cutoff to start working again. Anyone know something i dont?

There is a cutoff sensitivity setting (which I haven't used myself). I wonder if that's involved.
I know others have used it before - I'm sure someone will chime in. |
On a similar note, some days mine reads fuel cutoff while on other days it doesn't. This is without changing any of the gauges...:/

It's possible cutoff is determined by other factors (accessories, coolant temp etc).
I'm not being very helpful :P |
ScanGauge displays 9999 Fuel cutoff while accelerating
2002 Nissan Xterra, V6 3.0, 5 speed manual
During my summer roadtrip I noticed that sometimes the ScanGauge would display 9999 mpg indicating fuel cutoff. The problem is, I was going uphill with the gas pedal pressed. In regards to your issue: 1) Check the "LP" gauge on your ScanGauge: It needs to be in CLOSED mode 2) Check the "TPS" gauge: On some cars TPS needs to be 0 when the gas pedal is not pressed 3) In an automatic you might need to be going a certain speed before it will allow fuel cutoff I hope this helps |
On my car foot off the accelerator TPS=9 and it does Fuel cutoff in 3,4,5 gear if RPM is high enough.
On scangauge in SETUP/FUEL/CUTOFF I say TPS=10 for cutoff and the scanguage shows cutoff (MPG=9999 and GPH=0). If I set the scanguage cutoff to TPS=9 it does not read it. So my advice set scanguage to read cutoff at one TPS higher then foot off accelerator TPS. |
