Unhappy Scan Gauge II Question / Issue

Hey so I'm new to all this ecomodding stuff so I decided I should start with a SGII first. I was anticipating it all week and just received it today and I got it hooked up it just says connecting did the troubleshooting and then tried forcing the 3 modes vpw, iso and cansf for GM products saying I'm putting it in a 1995 Chevy s-10 which the SGII site says is compatible with and still just keeps says connecting the only difference is when I put it it VPW mode it would turn off after 30 seconds or so then I tried troubleshooting car engine was on and then did more more mode pids supported like troubleshooting says and saved and still did same thing. Does anybody have any advice or have the same vehicle and year that it did work. Thanks in advance for any advice

Guess this is three years late, but I had a similar problem (about 3 years ago) and ended up calling the company. They said there were a bunch that had a bad part, but they didn't catch them all before they shipped some. They shipped me a new one & I returned the old one, and all was well after that.
