Scangauge question

Finally made the plunge and bought one I have it setup and I have one question. Will it still calculate with the ignition in the accessory position the reason I ask I kill the engine when I know I can coast to my parking spot at work, home, etc. Thanks for any input

If you set the scangauge fuel type to 'hybrid' it won't shut off right away when you key off.

For the ScanGauge to read any data from the vehicle, you need they key in the ON position. If you kill the engine you should be turning it from ON to OFF or ACC (one turn back is accessory on my Honda), and then ASAP switch back to the ON position. If you are coasting in the accessory position the OBD functions are shut off, and the SG is not getting any data.

Ok turning the key back to the on position did not work. Guess I'll have to try switching to the hybrid mode. Since I've already started is it going to hurt me changing that?

No you can change it on the fly. I believe in hybrid mode it will stay on as long as data is coming in, where as in normal mode it goes into shutdown mode as soon as you turn the key from the ON position.

If EOC is something you do very often you might want to check out adding a kill switch. Even in hyrbid mode when your key is anywhere but ON, data is not being transmitted so for that brief few seconds you wait for the engine to die, the SG is not tracking miles or fuel usage. That could add up over a 400 mile tank if you EOC enough. Plus it's just easier to press a button and not have to worry about turning the key.

I usually do it like 3 times a day some days more rolling into the gas station, work, and home. I've thought about a kill switch but not sure yet. I will switch to hybrid and see. Thanks
