ScanGauge Rear Window Display?
 

Hello -

My friend has a Prius and he's having fun getting great MPG. He was wondering if the ScanGauge display could be routed to a bigger LCD and put in the rear window. You would need to make a larger/lighted verson of this :

Hmm, it would be tough to do on a scangauge. You would have to have a seperate microprocessor that "emulates" a lcd and tap into the existing lcd signals. then you could predict what characters are where on the display, then spit out the characters from a pre-arranged portion of the display to the remote display. Have fun :)


I did start a remote display project for the MPGuino, it is basically a bunch of LEDs poked through a piece of coroplast and a atmega to control the LEDS and figure out the mpg.

I've got all the LEDs poked through the coroplast and their leads twisted together and wired up, just trying to decide how to do the mpg part. Just have to decide on the protocol/connection to the remote display.

Ooooh, that's a good mod for the MPGuino. I was thinking that any solution would require a bigger, more expensive LCD, but LEDs are seft-lit.
