Need info on power-plant emissions

I did a painting which shows the transition to electricity to power cars as a struggle between the planet ( the plants ) and Big Oil.

I wanted to have a description of the art which also shows how that even when using coal plant electricity, there are less emissions than a gasoline car.

What I am needing now is an official test showing these findings that i can cite.

using coal as electricity for electric cars clean ? - Google Search

I have a lot to choose from, and thought you guys might know right off hand of a good source to use.

Thanks !

if one region were completely dependent on coal for power, its electric cars would be responsible for full-cycle global-warming emissions equivalent to a car capable of 30 m.p.g. in mixed driving.
