searching for particular E-engine for motorbike hybriding

Hi there.

Gathering ideas to hybrid my motorbike, I found I needed an electric engine with the shaft available both sides (going one end to the other).

I input from the bike sprocket with a belt to a centrifugal clutch on the left, the E engine is transverse to a 45° gearset and then a BMW shaft drive on the right.

I did a bit of searching on the internet but found nothing.

Could you help me ?

Really, scrounging around for a smaller forklift motor is probably going to be the easiest thing. Perhaps call around to a few shops that do repair / maintenance work on them and see what they might be able to get you.

Thanks but I need a much smaller item.
I need a 4 kw item who is in the 8 inches width tops.

Sounds like you designed it around parts that don't exist and that doesn't tend to be a problem when they are small or simple parts because the solution to not finding the parts you need is to make it your self, but that is not easy when it comes to motors.
Sure there are double ended motors out there, but finding a single shaft motor that fits the rest of your design requirements is hard enough.

When you say width, do you mean diameter or length of the motor? There are lots of small forklift motors that would work if you mean diameter, length, not so much.

A jack shaft might be a better route to go from the sounds of your design, but I also don't know where you are going to get the space for a battery pack, motor, engine and electronics on a motorcycle frame.

The layout I had in my head sounded easy enough if there was to be a suitable motor off the shelf.
Apparently, there is none.

But as you said, when there is no part available, we can still build them.

I will draw a sketch (that should help refine the design too).

Battery pack is an issue space wise but the idea being hybrid, I think I can live with a reduced EV autonomy.

I would be glad to discuss the potential with you guys.
