Seats delete & MoT question

One for the UK bods here...

The dreaded MoT is coming up, so I've got a question. I've removed all the passenger seats in my car (front and rear) - would this mean a MoT fail? I hope not... though reading DirectGov's MoT page it says all compulsory seatbelts must be present and a couple seatbelts are integrated in the seat itself.

Take it to an MoT station and ask?

Sorry im not much help but even if it fails, im pretty sure you get a free re-test within a week. Plenty of time to re-install the seats?

I think as long as you remove all on the seat (base+squab) AND all of the seat bealts used on the removed seats you should be fine. I had a min witha fully roll cage and no rear seats - passed fine. well, it had the usual rust issues but the seats weren't a problem...

Feh, seatbelts integrated in the car itself will be an hassle to remove, especially that I want the option of putting the seats back in quickly - the seats are 2 minutes to remove/replace, whereas the seatbelts will take much longer.

I'll guess I'll have to take the option of taking the car for its MoT to see, and cross my fingers and take it back for a free re-test if I have to.

Thanks to you both for your help!

Used to work at Ellesmere port building the astra.... know what you mean about them being a fiddly pain in the a*se to strip!

Wow... never expected to meet anyone working there! I guess you live in the Liverpool area?

Any insider information you could tell me about the Astra? :D Like, if I drive the car backwards for a mile or so, will it start playing Satan's favourite song?

I left after I did pilot work for the current model astra intro. now work somewhere else ;) kinda close by
