Dumb problem...

Until I purchase chassis stands/jack stands, does anyone have any ideas of how to drill underneath the car? The problem is that my drill is too tall...I chucked my drill bit into my dremel and even that's too tall. Frustrating as I have some minor jobs that I want to do ASAP but can't get around this rather silly problem!

You could purchase a right angle attachment for your Dremel, or get and stack 1 or 2 layers of large flat concrete pavers and drive 2 wheels (front, back or side) up onto them, or find a location where a change in slope allows you to park your car with more ground clearance under it.

X2 right angle drill attachments are very handy

Costs for that? Will it "retrofit" to "older" (5 years) Dremels? Also, available at Lowes (ie., pickup after work today for eg.)?

Dig a small trench and park over it.

Most cars come with scissors jacks for changing tires, borrow a couple and set them on flat paving stones or short pieces of plank. Remember to set the emergency brake and chock the wheels so the car won't roll. Don't work under a vehicle supported by only a hydraulic jack since these can leak down and pin you. Have some one monitor your work for safety and fetching tools.
