Shelf life of battery types (aka:how long can I collect junk for EV project?)
 

Anyone? How long can I expect that different types of battery will retain a useful life if stored while gathering materials?

Get batteries last!

Collect a motor, charger, etc. first.

Batteries are best when they are fresh.

If you do get batteries earlier, keep them charged, but not anywhere too warm - heat shortens their life.

With lead acid, they can be purchased without acid pre installed... Can they be stored this way indefinitely?
