site not handheld friendly

I had the bright idea of trying to connect and log in to enter mileage data via my handheld (Blackberry)... I am not sure if there is a plugin for this website's backend/forum software is available to recognize that the browser is a cell phone and send less images and use a smaller bandwidth.

Some forums that I belong to have a module that sends text (and/or minimal graphics) to handhelds. My Blackberry freaked out (displaying the page layout) with the ginormous ecomodder header across the top of the pages, then locked up trying to load/log-into the Garage page (required battery pull). First website I've ever accessed with my BB that has done that.

Might be as easy as a link to the garage page with a more mobile-friendly stylesheet? I'd love to be able to update my mileage from my Windows Mobile.

If you scroll down to the bottom of any page on ecomodder you will see a drop down box that has two options...

1. EM Skin - Full website graphics
2. Mobile - text only

I've used this box from my Blackberry to access the site more easily...all graphics and cool looking thingys are removed for easier mobile access.

Add...I don't believe you can enter the garage or tank data in this format though. Just browse topics and posts more easily from a mobile device.

ahh... interesting, never noticed that at the bottom. I'll give that a shot the next time I try using my BB

What version of BB do you have? I have the AT&T Curve 8310 and use it to check Ecomodder often. I can view pics and browse forums, have not posted to the forums or updated my gas logs yet though.

I have the exact same phone (BB Curve 8310), BUT, I don't have a "data plan" (i.e. access to the Blackberry Network)... I just have the low-speed AT&T "MEdia Net" browser

Setting "mobile" fixed the forum access perfectly... Trying to get to the fuel log page gives me "The Requested Page can not be displayed" :(
