Sling Shot Aero....Or Lack Thereof
I saw this thing on an Autoblog Article and thought....
The guys at Polaris have NEVER visited ecomodder....E V E R!
Um...Er....Aerodynamics?, yer doing it wrong.
So I guess we could discuss what could have been if this were to have been wrapped in a true aerodynamic body, and had an engine and drive-train set up for economy. The current engine actually may not be too bad.
Anyway, take a look, thought this might spark some conversation anyway.

1) Make it look like it came off a Marvel Comics set.
2) Create stable platform.
3) Make it pretty reliable.
4) Make it cost effective to build.
5) Be comfortable.
6) Make it look like it came off a Marvel Comics set.
7) Make it pretty fast.
8) Make it street legal. (almost everywhere)
9) Make it look like it came off a Marvel Comics set.
10) Make it get 60 MPG.

In the future,as a used vehicle,someone with the inclination could score one,and ditch all the existing bodywork,then create something which would sing in a wind tunnel.
It's already street legal,so it would be hard not to get it registered after the mods.

Quite true. However, you still have to get past the fact that it sports a 2.4L engine, haha.

I was curious about the 2.4 L GM engine, could it get good economy in other vehicles? I saw it had variable valve timing which if done well essentially makes for a variable displacement engine.
Then I looked up the GM's with it and see it does pretty awful. The closest car would be the Solstice which gets 19/21/25 MPG......the best is in a Pontiac G6 getting 22/26/33. Ugh.
