Small AC Conversion
Looking around at potential future upgrades to my Citicar, I came across an AC system for 48v -
http://tinyurl.com/lg578 It looks interesting - anyone else here tried a small AC conversion? I might be able to afford it even without winning the lottery... |
I like it, any idea how hard it is to fit a motor like that up to the citicar stock axle?
|
It looks like the motor face and diameter are about normal for a Citicar, and since it has a female spline an adapter (like used on D&D motors) might work. All speculation at this point as I haven't called them.
I don't like the Citicar rear axle/differential I have as it makes a lit of gear noise. If I do an AC upgrade, I'll probably get a golf cart diff at the same time. Then there is the problem of the speedometer/odometer... |
Looks really interesting!
The tough part is to set this up as a street-legal vehicle. Sounds like the easy way to do it is took hook one of these up to a registered Citicar. |
I'd love to see an AC project completed on this site!
