So I found some things..

I was looking online for a few MPG mods and I ran across these products on ebay. I've been talking with the seller a little bit and everything seems to make sense. But has anyone ever tried this stuff? It seems like it would work, but before I blow my cash on anything I want to be sure. His feedback doesnt show much of anything on the mpg mods he has, just the perf. chips.

Here are the links.

O2 OXYGEN SENSOR SIMULATOR ELIMINATOR PERFORMANCE CHIP - eBay (item 120282352144 end time Jul-17-08 20:07:12 PDT)

eBay Motors: EFIE O2 SENSOR ADJUSTER Water4Gas for HHO GENERATOR (item 120281676560 end time Jul-16-08 04:12:47 PDT)

eBay Motors: * ECOMASTER GAS SAVER CHEVY TRACKER METRO IMPALA LUMINA (item 120280837981 end time Jul-14-08 09:15:33 PDT)

Insight on any of these things will be greatly appreciated.

It may or may not increase FE. What it does is trick the computer into running lean, which may or may not work depending on how smart your car is. I wouldn't recommend it, because I have a policy against fiddling with important sensors.

Ah common!!! Fiddling with sensors are cool, I do it all the time at work...

Its for a 99 chevy metro 1.3l , not a very smart car in my opinion.

Save your money for some coroplast and duct-tape. They'll help a lot more than any sensor-spoofing resistors.

The first one is a waste if you still have a catalytic converter. (and who knows if it would work anyway)
The second one is only for HHO generator cars. (and again, probably as pointless as these HHO generators seem to be)
The third one just doesn't have a good explaination as to how or why it works.. and with a claim of +20%, it should be explained in detail.

It seem to me like this guy is one of many, who have jumped on the bandwagon of fooling the unsuspecting with claims of false mileage increases from bogus products in this time of rising gas prices.

I built an o2 sensor modifier. It certainly would lean down the mix, but it would also drastically reduce my mpg. At least it only cost me $11 to build. I also built a map sensor modifier for a few bucks. It actually feels like it gives a tad more power when reducing the voltage by 100-150 mv. But not enough to increase mpg.

Doing some of the ecomods mentioned in this forum has done more for my mpg than anything else. I plan to keep trying more. In another week my little one goes back to her moms and I should have more time to work on the car again.
