World Petroleum Consumption Hit Record High in 2012 despite US/Euro reductions
Perhaps this has been posted already, but despite the news about slightly declining fuel use in the USA/North America and Europe, total global consumption continues to rise...

I believe the graph is showing annual change, not total. So, 07/08 was the only period shown where there was a net global decline.
PS: your new dog avatar needs glaucoma meds, STAT!
