very interesting read. It's funny when you look at cars of today vs cars of the part. Take most hybrids now days. They get less (most hybrids) mpg than that of say a Geo Metro or a 89 Honda Civic

Yeah. I agree. I remember years ago, in the 80s, a couple guys were on TV with an 84 mpg mustang they had modified in their garage. The capacity to do this in the factory, aftermarket, or at home has been there for generations. Sites like this seem to be making a difference finally. I think it would be a lot of fun to restart the "efficiency runs" sometime in the summer... promote ecomodding. Though maybe we don't drive poluting cars through national parks, and instead establish a week of simply commuting then gather for some sort of event/show at the end. I see a parking lot and a coffee shop. Very Southern California.
