Solar panel to feed both H2 AND O2 into engine?
 
What do you guys think about a roof mounted solar panel producing a little bit of H2 AND ALSO O2 via electrolysis?

Previous Hydrogen fuel enhancement only feed Hydrogen while dumping Oxygen.
What about feeding both together? Will this improve efficiency or reduce emissions a little bit?

Of course the solar panel provides "free" energy, unlike the alternator powered H2 fuel enhancement.

read up on any one of the many hydrogen threads that are already out there, in one of them you will find where I did the math to figure the cost of hydrogen and how it's like paying... I think it was like spending over $30 per gallon equivalent in gasoline to produce from shore power (wall outlet) or over $80 per gallon equivalent if you produce it with energy from the gasoline engine, now think about how solar if pointed AT THE SUN has a 7 to 20 year pay back depending on the system, your location and if it's tied in to a battery system at all, on your car you are driving for maybe an hour per day but closer to half an hour per day with at least 4 hours per day of sun if not more and there is no saying that any of that drive time is when it's sunny out and if you mount solar panels flat (not pointing directly at the sun but instead facing UP) you can pretty much cut their output in HALF so your 20 year payback turns in to a 40 year pay back and that is if you are using or storing the energy as it is produced! because of the high cost of gasoline produced electricity, your pay back to off set the alternator use is going to be much quicker, so if you just offset the electrical demand of your gas engine you might see a pay back of 2-3 years or 15 to 20 times as fast as your pay back from not putting that extra electrical load on your gas engine, and if you read up on hydrogen you will see that the electrical load from producing hydrogen is doing very very very little to improve your gas mileage while reducing your electrical load by doing an alternator delete can improve your mileage by a solid real 10%

I've thought about using a solar panel so I can turn the alternator off during the day.

Just a rough idea. Haven't gotten to the point of actually figuring things out.

This is discussed in the alternator delete thread. It's a practical idea, so does not belong in the Unicorn Corral.

Not really a unicorn, since it would technically work, you just wouldn't get much energy return. 700 W/m^2 of solar panel * maybe 20% efficiency * % of time car is actually in the sun * efficiency of electrolysis? You'd wind up with maybe 10 watts worth of H2/O2 mix going into the engine.

The solar panel would be more effective keeping the battery charged, reducing the alternator load.

In reality I can't think of a way to use electricity that would have less of an improvement on gas mileage then making hydrogen, so if you choose to put up with the losses of having your PV panels flat instead of pointed at the sun then pretty much anything that you run that helps out the engine or propels the vehicle will improve your mileage more then hydrogen, but for the money spent, mounting the solar panels on a ground or roof mount on your house and back feeding in to the grid is going to give you the quickest return after doing an alternator delete.

It'd help if you used it to recharge the battery, dumping the alternator and the extra load it puts on the engine.

The fairy-tale HHO, Browns gas, hydroxy systems all add both gasses together.

They sometimes use that to claim that they aren't really adding H2 but some magical, non-existant H and O combination out of Brown's delusive mind ...
