Solectria Force Restoration and/or Updating

The local community college's renewable energy program has a professionally converted Geo Metro Solectria Force that's in rough shape.

I have no idea about troubleshooting the electronics it currently has nor installing a replacement unit.

Chances are the battery system is trash, which is why they stopped using it. Or they let the magical smoke out of the electronics. Either is merely annoying and somewhat expensive to remedy

Iirc, they were flooded lead acid batteries.

This should be probably in the fossil fuel free forum

Is this a project you're thinking about tackling, or are you offering the thing for sale?

A project I'm thinking about tackling. I don't have the authority to sale the EV.

What a cool car! Good Luck on the project!

I've driven a sedan version of one of these - the first "factory" electric car I tried, and the first with regen coasting/braking ability.

There was also a mode for "one-pedal" driving that re-mapped the throttle in an unusual way: the bottom half of pedal travel was "go"; the top half of travel was variable regen braking.

Does it have regen braking options not associated with the accelerator pedal and maybe associated with the brake pedal?
