Some brits purchase a 75 MPG(Imp) Volkswagen Lupo 3L

Their daily driver is an expensive v8 and they said they spent £3,000 on gas.
Over what time frame?!
They said they were trying to find an econobox for £3,000 or less.
The bigger one listed many economical cars and the smaller one said "Boring. None. Too French. Don't know what that is."
The last one was in reference to the Mirage.

They said that an old Leaf would have an atrocious range, but if they could charge it cheaply...
They said they felt dead inside while driving it.
They looked at a Prius, but there were nonstop red flags.
They found an Insight, but immediately discussed the XL1, and then decided to purchase the 3L, not named because the engine is 3L, but the fuel consumption is 3L per 1,000km.
They explain how lightweight the body is and thin the doors are.
So, it's light and efficient, but it doesn't seem very safe:

1,100 Pounds is 1,488.44 in Dollars. You should get one of those.

Thanks for converting that to real money, but I can't find any for sale in the U.S.

So, they want to retain the performance of the expensive V8, but with a fraction of the fuel consumption.
Oh wait! And for silly cheap. I almost forgot.

Have they tried seeing how far hypermiling would get them?

They mentioned hypermiling, but never seemed to attempt it.

They did lots of maintenance, but it didn't seem like much was necessary:

Doug DeMuro bought an Audi A2, which is kind of like the Lupo 3L

It was also rated 3L per 100km: He said it was also the first all-aluminum car. Maybe you knew all about this, but I didn't.

The A2 was Coventry University candidate for the boxed cavity modification. Preceded by the NSX:

Clickbait title is clickbait

They tried to meet inspection, but failed, and are waiting for parts from the distant land of Europe!

It's weird because I've watched All the Gear videos when I had the time and they routinely visit the Top Dead Center lads and the All the Gear blokes routinely visit Europe!
