Spikes-Spider Attachment for Aero Wheel Covers?
The folks at Spikes-Spider have some interesting hardware for attaching a
quick-change snow/ice traction device to wheels. In short, it is a very heavy duty take on the tapped lug nuts approach. It is probably serious overkill, and the bits are expensive. That said, with three of these attachments per wheel, I can't see aero wheel covers attached with the basic Spikes-Spider hardware ever becoming airborne... that is except in the case of the failure of the cover itself. Here's the whole deal: Video showing the Spikes-Spider traction device. Sequence on the mounting hardware begins at 5:01.
