"Spoon" mirrors on 92-95 civic
Has anyone ran any testing on the aftermarket replacement 'spoon' side mirrors for 5th gen civics? I saw them mentioned in a handful of threads when I did a search, but didn't have any luck finding solid information.
I'm getting started on my '92 VX and am trying to focus on improving the aerodynamics. I've heard that these side mirrors are better, being smaller and hugged tighter to the body, but was hoping for some confirmation before I spend the $35 or so on a pair. I've consider removing the passenger mirror entirely, but I prefer to maintain the safety and peace of mind that it comes with when driving/parking. |
I doubt anyone has tested those specific mirrors, but don't expect to get your $35 back from different mirrors.
Since you're wary of removing a mirror, consider spending $5 on an interior mirror and mounting hardware. It'll give you a nice wide angle view. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8305/7...084353ae_n.jpg Interior Rear View by Tyler Linner, on Flickr |

I've seen the internally mounted 'bubble/fish-eye' mirrors used by others here, and certainly like the aerodynamic appeal of deleting the external mirror, but also know that they are a potentially significant compromise in terms of field of vision. I've got unfortunately limited faith in the civic to 'win' any accidental contact contests. |
