Steamwhistle Brewery converts '58 Chevy pickup to electric
Neat marketing exercise: Steamwhistle Brewery's Vancouver people converted a '58 Chevy Apache pickup:

And likely an AC system, since it was done with the help of Azure Dynamics. So far, they're more "marketing" than "info", but here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImBZkojHs-4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=po9_hny_7iQ |

While I have no proof, I think I saw a converted 1960's electric pickup at the Irwindale speedway on drag-race Thursdays. I say this because there was almost *no* sound when it accelerated, and the acceleration was like a bat out of heck. It was *not* the truck you posted, because the truck bed was different and it was a green and white two-tone. It also had zero-signage to say it was an electric. CarloSW2 |
Cool. Well I have to say this one caught my eye because I've done a fair amount of daydreaming about converting an old truck into an EV as a replacement for the ForkenSwift some day. Why? Because I mostly use the FS as a utility vehicle anyway.
Of course drag strip performance wouldn't be on the spec list. NEV type specs, similar to the current EV, would be fine. |
Oh... and I've also had Steamwhistle beer before... it's not bad :P
