The story of the Dale - Twentieth Century Motor Car Corporation
Here's a what if? as you've seldom seen... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4uji815CoA https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twenti...ar_Corporation There's something with trikes and fraud. But what a pity.

THG is awesome. I learned stuff. I was surprised that 'Liz' was described as a widowed mother of five. But toward the end he pulls a rabbit out of the hat. Unlike Wikipedia that neglects the bigger fraud.
What I learned was that the Embargo was caused when a Middle-East country said "If you don't send us conventional arms we will have to use the nukes you gave us." Do you have another example of a reverse trike involved in fraud? IIRC there is one [or more]; but not Morgan, BMW, Polaris, Campagna Motors or Arcimoto. |
Okay, I was looking for something else and came across two examples. Sparrow and Elio.
I recind the question. |
Even though a reverse-trike may have a better ride, conventional ones had been more successful commercially such as the Piaggio Ape, the Lambro and the Reliant. I don't know why, but even some reasonable projects such as the Pompéo, a 2-seater reverse-trike which was meant to be made in Brazil and use the 250cc Yamaha air-cooled thumper also fitted to the XT 250, tend to fail when there is a proposal to make an electric version instead. Well, maybe the absence of ABS brakes and airbags which weren't mandatory for cars in Brazil back in the day but were fitted to the Smart Fortwo, also rendered it a less competitive contender.
But anyway, unlike a conventional 4-wheeled car which ends up being used to perform duties it was originally not meant to, a tricycle is still often seen as too "specialized" for the average Joe to even take a look at it, plus nowadays the SUV craze rendered any plan for an affordable-to-operate vehicle less likely to succeed. |
Remember when Jalopnik was all about cars? They had a great article on this with the funniest line about "evidence seized at that Texas home including, a device used to conceal one's penis.
I bet that looked good in an evidence bag." What ever happened to Jalopnik? They are just garbage now with little to do with cars. https://www.google.com/amp/s/jalopni...-464820740/amp |
