What did you think of the idea of easily testing this with an old radiator S pipe from a scrap yard that fits snugly over the existing exhaust tip?
One should be able to temporarily fix the new end/it in place, just below dead centre, with some decent tape of some sort.

Hmmm... possibly.
There are a good number of trumpet-ish shaped doodats around, or 3D print something.
But for a quick, easy test; an old radiator S pipe should tell one something.
