Suction Cup Mounted Kamm Back
Has anyone done this?
Suction Cup Mounted Kamm Back If not, I'll lay claim to the idea |
Suction cups are good...but I'm not sure you want to depend on it sticking all the time. Would hate to be following the person who was though... :(

fail-safe
Just my opinion, but I'd be reluctant to depend solely on suction cups for attachment.Maybe back it up with a handful of ' short-leash ' lanyards just as a fail-safe in case the vacuum goes south.
There's enough stuff laying in the road already. |
check out seasucker bike racks
seasucker.com harborfreight.com and many other places sell lots of vacuum suction cups that I think would make a great platform for attaching a Kammback that can be easily moved from one car to another... |
Every suction cup thingy I've ever had fell off eventually.

Any idea on where to buy Seasucker style cups at reasonable prices?

You could design yer own without infringing on their patent design or intellectual property. :D There might be other suction cup devices out there that might perform in the same manner. What are you looking to hold? ;) |
$25 each could be reasonable, those are more like $50 each.
|
Maybe you could adapt this suction cup...it's got a 80lb pull. ;)
...or this dual suction cup...it's got a 125lb pull! :D |
A quick search on the internet came up with Allvac's offerings similar to Seasucker's offerings... ;)
|
Someone on Instructables has made one... ;)
