Superchargers not free for the common man's Model 3
Tesla Models S and Model X have free access to Tesla Superchargers but people who ordered the Tesla Model 3 who did not order the optional Supercharger package have to buy credits before they could hook up with any Supercharger.

Tesla Model 3 'Supercharger Credits' discovered on 'MyTesla' page

...someone offered their Referral Code, get a $1,000 credit on your own Tesla.

Makes sense. Installing those chargers cost a TON of money... someone has to pay for it. If you're planning on increasing their usage a ton... someone also has to pay for it.

All this free stuff tesla is/was offering is just market penetration tactics.
Once they carve out their market share and especially when the government funding dries up all the free stuff is going away. Which looks like is happening now.

I would have never saw this coming.

Sure it's free; after you pay.

Current Tesla owners aren't getting a bargain; they have paid a premium to be an early adopter of the product. Sure, they get "free" charging for the lifetime of the vehicle, after already paying a very large sum of money for their vehicle. Electricity is cheap, and vehicles have a limited lifetime.

I wouldn't want the cost of "free" super charging wrapped up into the price of the vehicle. I'd rather pay for what I use when I need it, which in my case, would be very rarely.
