You would get a more powerful set up with a golf car rear end if I'm not mistaken, that motor looks just slightly bigger then an Etek, and 300 amp controller is not that big for 72 volts, I would want to go with at least 600 amps as I see my 48 volt motor spike at over 600 amps to get the same power out of that 72 volt motor you would be drawing 400 amps and at times I wish that my EV had more power.

That might be the way to go. I just can not get any parts for the City-el. I noticed the 2009 City-el had 4 batteries on one side and the motor was on the opposite side and was moved 90 degrees from the axle. Mine is totally different. They might not have parts at the City-el factory for a centrally mounted diagonal motor surrounded by 4 batteries.

GoldenMotor has a fairly poor to mixed reputation for build quality and customer service. You will have better luck and better pricing if you buy used motors in the spec range you want.

The electric bike that I built a few years ago was using a Golden Motor wheel hub kit. It worked very well.

I simply mail-ordered it, so my only customer service experience was with their web page shopping cart. I thought the bike kit was a good item.

I do agree with Ryland that this so-called car kit looks really light-weight. It would be great for an indoor electric cart for some sort of industrial use, or maybe a fun little electric go cart - but not for what most American's think of as a "Car".

It could be used for a trike that you would have registered as an electric bike.

what kind of electric car parts are you looking for? there are alot of electric car parts out there, companies that make motors, controllers, adapters.
If you want something that would be comparable to the axle that was linked to then go to a golf cart shop, want it to go faster? get a larger motor for it from the same golf cart shop.
what to make a highway speed electric car? then you need to figure out what car you are basing it off of first.
