Smile Talk me into buying a scan guage!

I’ve always wanted one but the $150 price tag scares me. Talk me into buying one please!

I haven't used a dedicated gauge in a decade.

Now I use an ELM327 and Torque or other Android apps. $5 and more versatile.

Seconded. Only reason to get a $150 gauge is if you have an iPhone and 98% of the $5 bluetooth dongles don't work with your phone.

While I do have the Torque app, I also like having the Scangauge E always in my car. One reason is how easy it is to clear a check engine light while driving. The price is definitely high, but I won mine here a bunch of years ago.

I won a scangauge too and sent it to another member since I already had one. Also have a tee shirt that I need to wear more often.

I got a free Scangauge e here too. I'm not sure if I won it.

But I do wish I had a more capable version. Sometimes I'd like to increase the fan speed for cooling the hybrid battery. That's not possible on the "e" version of the Scangauge.

I could use the Torque app I guess. It just seems to be more of a pain to connect everytime I get in the car. Plus, I can't see my battery voltage and water temperature without holding the darn phone in my hand.

This is why i don't use torque, but I got an $89 UltraGauge instead, and I've had mine since 2012.

What pain getting communication with the car? Howsabout getting the stupid thing to not connect? On the 2013 golf, and a new samsung, every 5 minutes it does the connected ping, turns off the radio and announces it's connected.

I've had that happen constantly with some cars. I don't know why. Maybe a loose or corroded OBD2 port? My niece's 2006 Accord has issues with both Torque and the ScanGauge E. The 2000 Insight and 2008 Prius will stay connected forever.
