Talking to other groups

Some guy over at my car's forum came up with an FE mod that involved a bigger turbo with an off switch: "the car becomes virtually identical to 2.5i car where city mpg will increase at least 15% the car is pretty much a dog but power is simply a flip of a switch away!" I questioned the utility of a mod like that and told them that I'm getting better results without any. I added my Ecomodder signature pic as a nudge.

I got "uh ? do you drive at 55 mph all the time on cruse ? i have driven 3 bone stock lgt , they bearly reach those numbers in cruse let alone any change in speed."

"my longest tank ever was 444 miles and that was crusing in 6th for 4+ hrs at 70mph. Anyone claiming 450+ on a regular basis is on crack. "

"The rule of the internet. We're driving 6-litre V8s churning out 900hp and getting 32mpg on the freeway"

The OP might have actually taken the nudge and glanced over here. He came back with "This set allows you to drivr normally and get better mpg and if you baby it like you guys you will get even better."

The funniest part of the thread is the guy with the crack comment. A month ago I would have used it on his "best tank ever" claim.

There's alot to be gained by changing your driving habits ;)
EM has some really bad, bad influence :D

I wouldn't even think of coasting before joining ecomodder.

Now I'm often following the flow of traffic while coasting, thinking :
"I bet they don't even realize I'm coasting"

Pedestrians and bikers notice it most often, I notice they hear me only when I'm getting close, and I can often see them wondering - "why that car is making so little noise " ;)
