TDI low friction oil

Hey guys, hope everyone's doing well.

When Ernie (the guy with the New Beetle who added the wing) listed the things he had done to his TDI, he included a low friction oil.

He unfortunately didn't say what brand it was, or where it can be purchased.

Does anyone know where this can be bought? What improvements are to be expected?

Thanks

Probably just a lighter-weight synthetic oil. Something like Mobil-1 0W20.

It could well be what the VW dealership puts into the more recent TDis.
The main benefit is during warm-up.

I use synthetic 0W30 and lower weight/resistance gearbox oil, and the combined difference can be felt (and heard) against a 5W30 and normal gear oil .

I've heard of guys going to the 5w30 full synthetic on the TDI's. I would presonally be nervous using anything other than full synthetic 5w40.
