Turtle Has anyone here made an EV...

Has anyone here actually built their own EV from the ground up?
by "from the ground up" i mean - has anyone here built an EV and started with nothing but a frame? (I'm talking road worthy EVs)

and no, strapping a chair to a turtle doesn't count.

AH - so THAT'S how i stumbled on your site. I found Forkenswift first on U-Tube. but does that count? he started with an already made car. not exactly ground up. just modded (very well done, btw) instead of built.

Well, it'd be troublesome to use JUST a frame and nothing else...I think it might even be easier to build your own frame and body than to try and build a body to some rando car's frame, na?

Ahh.... You mentioned starting with a frame - which is somewhat close to what I was thinking with Metro's project

With a uni-body car, doesn't the body count as the frame? ;-)

I think if you started with a 2 seater tube frame chassis, you could have a very well set up highway eater. You could make it small and light.

I'm thinking maybe I'll get a Go-Kart down the line and mod it into a street worthy EV.
But then again, I'm always thinking of stuff i don't have the money for.

Well you can always get a dunbuggy kit minus the petrol engine and replace it with an electric on but finding places for batteries is another thing. thats what I have always wanted to do really, an all electric 4wheel independently driven dunebuggy
