Tercel transmission mated to electric motor and other EV parts - $200

Here's the thread up until now.

This is a bit negotiable because I have some things a buyer may or may not need: piles of very thick gauge wires, a successfully lovejoy coupler mated motor and transmission with conversion plate, some sub-par heavy 6v batteries, a powerful 36v charger, fairly clean body, mattress frame to use for creating battery storage space. No motor controller.

BUMP and update: I scrapped the body, and saved:

-The lovejoy coupler mated motor/trans
-2 spare electric Advanced motors (one intact, and another with a cracked housing but otherwise was operational. My fault - trying to take it apart to clean the brushes)
-a boatload of heavy gauge wires from the EV welding cart I scavenged from.
-6 probably unusable at this point 6v batteries (if you want them - they've just been sitting around, although they've been kept under a roof)
-36v charger

$200

What is the diameter, and how long is the motor?

Wonderboy 04-10-2014 04:09 PM

The top of my head has not this information, but I appreciate the nibble. The photos may reveal some specs, or the build thread. I can fish this information out later, as I'm dashing out at the moment :)

Couldn't find a whole lot of very specific information on it (still haven't gotten back up to measure it first hand) but I did find a manual it was referenced in.

...and a couple more pics I had stashed away

I'd venture to guess the GE motor is 8" diameter and 12" long (not incl. shaft)

That EV-100 Contactor assembly is also referenced in that forklift manual, and indeed it is that very forklift I ripped this stuff out of. There was an interesting welding/transport cart that I got the other Advanced DC motor plus more thick wires from. The advanced motor is about the same sized motor, bigger voltage rating than the GE motor's 24, but the GE motor looks way more "diesel" and could definitely handle more than 24 volts. That's infortunately the one with the busted end cap. That Forklift also came with nearly the same Advanced DC motor as the welding cart drive motor, except the drive shaft is an "inny", not an "outy" and it was used to power the hydraulic pump. That motor is intact and works, and also about the same size - 8" around, a little longer at maybe 13".

For my application, I'd need to know the exact diameter and length. Its just that tight.

Alright Tim, the motor is 11.25" from the back edge to the mounting plate. I did not measure to the end of the shaft. The diameter is 6 7/8". Probably considered a 7" motor. The motor AND the transmission plus the conversion plate cumulatively consume 30" of width, from the back edge of the motor to the farthest part of the transmission (a mount).
