Testing a 3d Printed Wheel (YouTube Video)

I watch a lot of 3d printing stuff because I have a few printers and print stuff to sell. This one came up on my youtube feed and it was pretty interesting.

You could print gun parts. As long as it's not a reciever it's legal to do federally.
Easy way to tell is if you can buy it on ebay or amazon, it's good to go.

I've watched Part 1. I like the infinity cube enclosure.

The most interesting [3D printing] video I've seen in the last day or two is this:

How to Print Thin Wall - PlanePrint | Big Bobber

The first seven minutes is on printing calibration test pieces. Now I'm thinking if there's another round of plague money (in my country, sorry) I'll be getting a 3D printer. The must-have feature would be non-planar printing.

edit: oil pan 4: Off by one minute. I wan't going to post this, but here you go: How to 3D Print a Gun - Q&A And Information

If you can own a gun you can make a gun. To sell it you need an FFL.

I have been reading and comprehend gun laws since 2003.
If creepy joe biden gets his way he wants to ban all gun parts sales over the Internet. It will amount to little more than virtue signaling because the supreme court will strike it down as soon as they can hear it.
Having a 3d printer would be like printing money for those few months while the ban is in effect.

Heaven forfend. :)

According to Scott Adams the tide has turned. Their mistake was they made it interesting to the autists.

Last night I watched the 47 minutes of testimony. This is all as according to the Q LARP prophesy.

Hey, do you guys want to start some morally legally grey boomstick thread before some moderator decides that [or she, I don't judge] this tangent is unwelcome?

Unless you are talking about 3D-printed boomstick wheels. I would totally watch a video about that! :P

RedDevil 01-08-2021 06:34 PM

Just some Dutch guys farting while mounting a leaking and ill-proportioned fragile ABS rim with an empty tire on an old Mercedes. I don't see a link with moderation? ;)

OTOH, we want to keep up high standards and not derail this with other issues :D

I would have to say 3d printed wheels are way more likely to kill someone than a 3d printed anything else.

Xist 01-08-2021 08:19 PM

As I recall, 3d-printed metal isn't as strong as the forged stuff, so 3d-printed boomstick wheels would be dangerous for everybody.

How do we convince the King of Random to do it? :D

You need a plan. Your wheel spokes could use the 40mm grenade round. The nylon shells are reusable, the low pressure means you can use an aluminum 'spoke' and you can 3D print the 'chalk/teargas' capsule.

3D printing engineering parts: PLA vs ASA vs PC vs PP vs nylon vs tough resin

That's all without getting into metal sintering and lost PLA casting.

I was talking about the common ABS PSA plastic printers.
If some one printed a metal 3d wheel I would run it, an ABS wheel not so much.
As of October my 40 is complete legal and I can't get any projectiles at the moment, beyond the 25 I started with. It's ridiculously fun, shooting it is comical.
I found some old art supplies that I want to make fly.

Xist 01-09-2021 04:46 PM

Are you going to shoot them at a canvas?

freebeard 01-09-2021 05:37 PM

I was going to put this in the DIY subforum, but it's ontopic here. 3D printed female mold, foam overmolding and a carbon fiber sleeve:

That's a nice wheel experiment. I enjoyed the vids.
