Thanks a Million
By now over a million electric cars have been sold in the US, almost half of them in the state of California alone:

I sure hope we find a way to reduce the production cost soon. Tesla's full credit begins to phase out in the US in January, and GM begins phase out in April. At some point the federal gov't will sunset the tax credit since it will begin to favor the late adopting foreign companies.
It wouldn't surprise me if sales took a dip sometime around 2020, or however long it takes to satisfy global demand. |
The credit was intended to help start up these initiatives. It worked and should no longer be necessary. The initial development has been done, the charging infrastructure is building up, battery cost is coming down - that should compensate for the lost tax credit.
What remains is lower fuel cost, better comfort and driveability and less maintenance. This is only the start of the boom. |
So GM conveniently kills the volt just about the time the tax encouragement runs out....
Now is the time to get an electric or plug in car. All the useful idiots are buying up pickups and SUVs as if they are being paid to take them. No one cares about fuel economy or electrics now. |
