There is no DFCO entry on Wikipedia

I guess that we can quote our glossary page:
Quote:

Deceleration Fuel Cut Off, a condition where fuel injection stops when the accelerator is released and engine speed is above a target determined by the computer. The engine continues turning via the transmission, driven by the vehicle's momentum. Once below the threshold engine speed (1300-1500ish rpm), fuel injection resumes allowing the engine to continue to run.

although this does not mention that it maintains power steering and brakes.

It also keeps the battery charged.

One problem in finding listings like this, is that different manufacturers may refer to the same function by different names.
For example, Datsun calls it Fuel Shut-Off in the manual and from memory Mitsubishi simply used the term Fuel Cut.

When mentioning this function on other forums, I now write Deceleration Fuel Cut Off in full to avoid confusion.

I still cannot find a source for the law requiring DFCO, but since any idiot can modify Wikipedia, I went ahead! :D

I just copied it directly from our wiki. I will add information as I gain it. Hopefully someone with more information will contribute.

Curiously, it says there is not a user named Xist, until I tried to create an account.
