Think I found a Metro XFi
 

I'm not sure how common they are anymore, but I might've found one nearby. The VIN matches, the mirror is missing, no AC, etc. I'll need to verify the engine and tranny match.

It's rough. The drivers window is out, along with windshield being busted. The interior is shot... the body is beat up a little.

If it's authentic, is it worth it? I'm not even sure the vehicle is salvagable, but the engine could be useful, right? I'm just wondering if I could recover most of my money from parts if I can't salvage the car.

The Holy Grail of Metros. If it doesn't have structural damage, get it. Main thing is check the condition of the engine. If the cylinders are tight, camshaft is ok, etc., there will be someone who will want it, especially if they understand what it is. Look on this sight and see what the XFi is all about.

It's a little drive away, so I'll ask for some pictures of the trouble areas now & inspect the mechanics later. What are the trouble areas on a Metro? Structurally I mean...

Metros are built light and thin, so the suspension attachment points are important areas to look for corrosion and accident damage. Bought a 4 door Metro that had some poor work done on the front lower control arm attachment points, drove it not even 5 miles and it collapsed. Was not happy. As long as those areas are solid, then you're all good.

Good thing parts are cheap.
