Thought it was time I introduced myself.
 

I have been lurking around this site since Feb. Signed up a short time back. My primary driver is an 06 G6 GT that I drive daily to work. Not the most fuel efficient vehicle in the world but I have been making progress. I checked out all the driving techniques and realized my long slow approach to reaching speed was counter productive. I ordered a scanguage because that seemed to be what many of the cool kids were using. I also realized what an asset my cars manual shift automatic can be while low speed (in town) driving. I am up from an average of 24 ish MPG to a nice 30MPG. I think the 30 is a little high so I expect it to settle in the 28-29 range but still a significant improvement.

Welcome Missourian! There's lots of us around the state (I'm from Southwest MO area) so you're not alone here, and if you've been studying I'm sure you'll find there's lots of ways to eek out more from your car.
