Tire pressure gauge price $$

I think this is about the best price I have found for a tire pressure gauge. Its at Harbor Freight tools. I love that place! Only problem seems to be +/- 3 psi but I bet that's pretty close to other models.

Dial gauges around here sell for around 3 bucks and go up to about 80PSI. The stick kind I can get at my local gas station/convenience store for about 1.34, and it goes to 100PSI.

I've had a few of those harbor freight units, they kind of suck. Main issue is that the gauge is in accurate, secondary is that the gauge breaks off way to easily.

I have yet to see a harbor freight tool that works or lasts more then one use.
I think I paid $11 for my tire pressure gauge from Napa, it's digital and keeps displaying the pressure after you take it off the tire, it is also warented to be accurate within 1psi.

I paid $15 from AAA (paid too much), but it was right before driving cross country :p

With harbor freight - my guidelines are... If I use it enough to break it, I need a good one... If it still works, I obviously don't use it enough to buy a good one :p That's putting precision etc. aside for things like a heat gun, quick connects, grinder etc. etc.

I have LOTS of harbor freight tools that work well.

Paint guns, engine hoist, hammers, axes, sds drill, rotary and random orbital (paint) polisher, pumps (some not all), DA sanders, air hose reals, vises, anvils, solar lights, jacks, stands, tumblers aren't bad, mighty vac, cheap dmm (for the price . . also have a fluke), alignment gauge works astonishingly well, have a 4.2k genset from them, for the price it's great (took a friend through 2 months without electricity after Katrina), auto darkening welding helmet, sandpaper works well and is cheap, and more

some things suck, among them most submersible pumps, cheaper mechanics tools, measuring equipment, all of their sandblasting gear, their drills, dmm's if you are expecting much, their temp guns suck, most of their automotive accessories.

all and all hit or miss, but fairly obvious if you study the bits. Their return policy is great, and the warranty can be a good deal as well . . . .
