Tire pressure sticker
 

Was working on a 2002 S40 owned by extended family when I decided to check the tire pressure while the ATF was draining out. Found an interesting tire pressure sticker on this car. I haven't seen one the recomended a different pressure for economy. Is this common? Usually that have a higher pressure for "sustained high speed driving".

I found all 4 tires in the mid 20s. I brought them up to the higher spec.

The sticker that recommends tire pressure is often recommending a pressure that gives the smoothest ride, higher pressure is also recommended when you increase the weight of the vehicle with more people or cargo, my owners manual says that if you are doing highway driving to increase the pressure by 4-5psi for longer tire life, but most people don't read their owners manual.

The owners manual doesnt say anything about tire pressure. It was hidden on the inside of the gas cap door.
