Token expired and killed my post. Bad Token!

This one drives me crazy. I start a post and finish it the next day, post it and it gets eaten by the expired token. I have been trying to remember to copy the post to the clipboard before I post but I'm not the most rememberful person around. today I lost an hour of work to the evil token:mad:

Any way to fix this so when you go back your work is still there? (short of me buying $29.95 memory tapes and a set of jinsu knives)

I assume you are using the "Remember" option when you login, but it still kicks you out at midnight? Interesting. I don't remember posting between days, but I am sure I have.

Sometimes when I am doing a long post, I copy/paste to Notepad to compose it. That way I don't lose it later. Maybe not a good solution, but at least a workaround.

I'm set for auto login and remember me but it still does it.

I guess I will have to start a mantra: Copy before post...copy before post...copy before post...

I use, and love, Firefox version 3.5.2.

Expired token? Hit the Back button, and there's all your text. You can also use Ctrl-Z to undo thing that happen in a text entry box.

Closed a tab and later wished you hadn't? Look under Recently Closed Tabs for the most recent ten tabs.

Thanks for mentioning this. I forgot to ask.

What browser/version are you using?

I'm not sure which version of FF I have, but usually if I get a post eaten, the text isn't there when I go back. Of course, I often use quick reply boxes because I don't normally need to compose long posts.

One thing I do before posting is hit "CTRL+A", then "CTRL+C" in a single motion before clicking "Post Quick Reply".

A is "Select All"
C is "Copy"

If it eats your posts, you just click in the quick reply box and hit "CTRL+V" - paste.

These are standard keyboard short cuts, almost all programs use them.

This has happened to me as well -- but I think I may have a way to avoid it: open another tab, open to EM Forum, click Recent Posts, and then turn on Reload Every -- an addon that can reload a page at regular intervals.

Ben (SVOBoy) yelled at me for that... it taxes the supercomputer that they've got the site running on.

I have a picture of it somewhere, I'll see if I can find it.

Yup, found it!

The one on the left is the same model as my mac, you know, last year's model.

I'm using safari (looks down) I know, lame. Perhaps I'll load up the new Firefox. I was having slow page loads with the last one I was using so I switched back to Safari.

I usually try to remember to copy before posting but... oh look there's something shiny over there... Sorry, what was the question?

I've been testing Chrome at my Father's house, only complaint is that it doesn't recognize some of the CTRL shortcuts in the text boxes, such as those for text formatting. I have to move my hand and click the mouse, which I don't do often.
