This engine seems pretty packed with new technology. Pretty interesting stuff IMO.

It's not mentioned, but I'm assuming this engine also uses an offset crank? I'd be pretty interested in a comprehensive list.
That peak BSFC RPM is pretty high, maybe attributable to friction reduction? |
I could be wrong, but I would assume most new engines are using an offset crankshaft these days.

If I'm not mistaken, the K20C in the new Accord and Civic Type R do not have an offset, since none of the other engines in the K family have an offset. I can't find any explicit information on it.
It would not surprise me if Subaru's boxer engines did not have an offset, for balance reasons. |
