Cool idea, but I think it only does about 30 mph, which would cause a really limited application outside of urban areas. Pretty cheezy looking site, it's layed out like a kid's high school media project. Hopefully that's because Toyota spent all their money on R & D so there was nothing left for web development

Come on, Elio!

.

I like it...

But I do have a few questions.

1. Stability - How does it react in evasive maneuvers ?

2. Safety - What safety features are incorporated ? Has it been crash tested ? What were the results ?

I'm sure Toyota has addressed these issues. I would just like to see more information.

I did find a little more here.

Looks like a cross between the Renault Twizy and the Piaggio MP3.

And the original Carver, although that had one wheel in front, two in the back.

I'm sure I might get to test one out soon, I'm guessing I might be on the European launch team for it.

Only 30 MPH? That'd make it only usable on sidewalks (wink, wink).

Nice job, Toyota. You've built a Segway with a roof. That's been done:

Trains at one time use to lean into turns. I like it better than the GM version of the segway.

Jay Leno drove a Piaggo with an open topped aluminum body on a so.CA. freeway sometime last month, but I don't know where to find that- it was 2 Piaggos, done by an individual- not a company. A heck of a lot faster than 30 mph.
