TPS only goes to 78
 

Noticed recently that when I floor my car the SGII only says 78% throttle. This could be something recent or been going on forever, I dunno cuz I never really floor my car. I also had my wife sit in the car and watch the SGII as I manually opened the throttle in the engine bay to 100% and it was still 78%. So it's not the throttle cable and It's not the floor mat either.

Any ideas?

It could just be the way your car reports TPS that confuses SG.

bust out a multimeter and manually check voltage?

a TPS is a potentiometer, they do wear out.

My Echo (also 1NZ) is the same, maxes out at 78. Every car reports differently, I have yet to see one where idle was 0 or wide open throttle is 100. Quite normal and not to worry!

Same. My Fit reads 14 at idle and 77 wide open.

My car shows 2 at idle and 94 at WOT.

The lowest I've seen in my MINI is 14, and the highest is 85.
