Traditional power for...Teslas?!

Bob Lutz plans to create existing Fisker Karmas into VL Destinos, powered by 636 hp 6.2 V-8 engines equipped with six-speed transmissions and he also tantalizes the automotive press that he could convert...Teslas Model S!

Well, that makes no sense at all. The chassis is purpose made to be electric - converting it would be an exercise in futility.

If it was such a great design, it would survive on it's own. Recycling an already produced vehicle into something that can be sold and USED, is better than wasting the whole thing. How much Taxpayer money did Algore make on the Fisker?

Couldn't the same be said about converting a liquid fuel vehicle to electric?

I may admit, I like the design of the Tesla Model S. I'm not unavorable to a traditionally-powered version, altough I'd rather consider something like the V6 TDI from an Audi Q7 (or even that new Cummins V8) instead of a gasser...

Here is the one person that was responsible for destroying the EV-1 and now he is converting the Fisker to ICE!?!?
He could have easily converted it to full electric and created something special that will not be obsolete in ten years.
The Feds have given GM around $250,000.00 for each Volt produced and the EV-1 development was also funded heavily by the Feds.

So who was the Fool here....Voters that's who.
When a private company produces a product for Public Sale, it should stand or fall on it's own.

A clear indicator of the futility of trying to teach SOME people about efficient movement from point A to B.

Not any criticism of the OP who I hold in high regard.

The Tesla or the Fisker? How much of a difference would it make that the Fisker was a hybrid?
