Traveling down the ecomodder path with my 97 Honda Civic HX

New to the game of ecomodder & it's bit me like the power bug in the performance engine oriented world.

Just wanted to say hey and post a few photos of my ride. Any suggestions regarding future modification is welcomed & encouraged.

Thanks,
Ryan

Welcome! The great thing about ecomodding to me is that it's mostly one size fits all from the start and most driving techniques can be applied to any vehicle. The older the car, the more low hanging fruit.

I can't see any pics, I think it has to do with low post counts.

What have you done so far?

Have you started your fuel log?

I have, yes. Before any modification, I traveled from Chicago to Detroit and calculated 38.6mpg average traveling at speeds. Between 75-85mph.

I have since installed an Ultragauge, but can't rely on its mile per gallon read out due to the fact that the car has lean burn in this doesn't take into account when calculating fuel economy so I generally manually do it at the fuel pump.

Welcome. Love me them Hondas! An MPGuino I think solves this problem tracking FE with a dash mounted read-out. Check this link: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...ures-8355.html

Yes, mpguino is very, very accurate once correctly calibrated for your vehicle. My Civic VX is the first Honda to use lean burn and it is within 1% of my calculations each time I fill the tank. I fuel up at the same pump and the car is at the same angle, which affects how much fuel it will hold. I used the wiki numbers and didn't have to make any adjustments. Now that's amazing!
