Don't make us guess, list the ways. :) I like the taillight windsplits.

They only show one picture of the interior of the boat. The downfall of these is the seats have to be set way low in the hull to clear the crown in the vehicular roof when it's stowed.

They could have started with a McKenzie River drift boat. They have a narrow flat bow and a pointed stern.

Edit: I'm starting to like this idea. The McKenzie River drift boat was invented in the 1960s by one guy, Woody Hindemann. The enabling technology was plywood, and the use case is recreational fishing and whitewater navigation.

A 15-15' hull has 72" beam width, 48" bottom with and a 24" gunwale. The pronounced flare becomes tumblehome when it's upside down on the vehicle, and the 'rocker' bottom can be canted to suit The Template. The arced driprail on the underlying trailer would facilitate a side entrance.

I don't get the purpose. The real roof is still there and not much higher then just a flat roof so it's just a boat strapped on the roof of a little cargo trailer.
At least the price isn't silly like the airstream basecamp which is a nice remodeled horse trailer.
The Hi-lo design is better. I can easily put any simple boat on the roof, or a pair of kayaks, yet still be low frontal area and have full stand-up height inside. I would put my boat stern front though as it is low enough to still be as low as the roof of a minivan or SUV.
