Before you start this project let me make some suggestions:
1. get you car up in the air before you ever start. find some out of the way shop with a lift and ask if you can buy 1 hour of time. Believe me, it will be the best $20-40 you''l spend
when you have it up, take measuremets. coroplast is 4 ft x 8 ft which allows you to lay large single sheets. Figure out mounting points.
take pictures from the ground up. onlt take closeups for detail. A faraway9from the ground level helps peek it all in perspective.
2.some have used wood as mounting points. others use aluminuum straps. I have used aluminuum angle for some of my bracing.

3. try to install using the same lift. it will cut your time in half (probably more) crawling around is a major time consumption

4. have a red or green perm marker to mark measurenent points .

5. buy more suppliies than you'll need...keep you reciept and return

6. when intalling have cheap duct tape from dollar store to test hold things in place before you start drilling holes all over!!!


i.spent the morning measuring and cutting cardboard templets. THen went out to get coroplast and supplies. They had yellow 5ft x 2 ft scraps so I also got 2 sheets of yellow 4 x 8.
The 2011 Audi A8 is my insperation and so I knew I wanted to do a color!:):thumbup:

i started in the rear.

I wanted to use one piece of the scrap. It's a solid piece. no ribs. Had to allow for the exhaust that drops below the flat line. I used a a/c vent screen to compensate.
also in the center of the IMPUL bumper at the bottom there is a ressession. I left this open. some place for the air that gets trapped above the pan to escape.

What method did you use to attach it to the car?

The IMPUL bumpers have pretty decent lips that curve under, so I have attached it there.
The at the rear of the sheet is a piece of alumminun angle bar that runs the width. that's the shiny edge. I only needed on support strap at the middle of the alum.

So is it just resting in there? Or is the plastic itself bolted on?

once i start the next section, I'll decide how to finally atach it. I really think that 2 screws will do. the material is pretty sturdy.

Wow....'this is not easy'! First it rained and was cold and I'm working in a carport. After I got back from church I got started then changed directions....had to call my daughter to run by Home depot....3 hours later.....night time sets in at 5:30....must have crawled under the car 100 times......
I only got the rear axle. Was trying to use one piece (59inches) for the twin mufflers and dual pipes.....not going to work......gonna have to leave split the sheet and go with mesh down the middle.

I'm using 1x2 wood to create mounting points so that the pan is 'level'.

a lift would be nice.......

Looks good.
Is that tape that you are using to hold the panels up? If yes, better switch immediately to a different mounting method or you'll lose these panels on the road.
Tie straps or wire are better ways to keep the coroplast attached.

I bought some wood screws with large washers that I'm using.
