Under belly pan Q45 edited..
Replaced the front under pan with a solid sheet of choroplast.
Added material to redirect rear air. http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...00401-1817.jpg http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...00401-1818.jpg close up of the edge of the solid material. http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...00401-1820.jpg rear.... http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...00401-1824.jpg http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...00401-1825.jpg |

Cool beans! I like the second from the last, where you make sure to "curl up" the leading edge of the rear to avoid a parachute effect. Is that really coroplast or styrofoam? I was expecting to see plastic that was like cardboard : http://www.coroplast.com/images/Plas..._Cap_Small.JPG CarloSW2 |
Carlo,
it was at the store where I bought the choroplast. It's not styrafoam but harded, more rigid. Thd had a large scrap and I used it in the back and now the front. Yes, the chorplast curved nicely to seal up the back area. |
it looks like it might be a product called Foamex but I could be wrong (or something similar)

Infiniti
I like very much what you've done and I certainly don't want to discourage your efforts, but I wanted to point out that Nissan has done enough under car aerodynamic refinement on the Infiniti that they've published advertisements showing only the underside of the car.
Bottom line ( no pun ) is that you may not see gains,as say, you'd see on a Jeep,Land Cruiser,Rover,Tahoe,Suburban,etc.. Your refinements will put you in good stead for tail modifications should you choose to pursue that in the future.Nice work! |
I gotta build me a bellypan! I'm contemplating either Coroplast, or aluminum flat bars & roll flashing...
Good job! |
