Unreal close numbers at fillup today

Wow, my wife filled up the saturn today, first time since the first tank correction. Same pump as previous fillup, same vehicle position, same pump insertion depth and handle angle, same stop filling after the first click, about the same time of day:

The car trip said: 397.5 miles
The pump said: 9.244 gallons

The mpguino tank screen said:
397.37 miles
9.24 gallons

The MPG readings were within %0.01 of each other!!! That's nuts! :) We'll have to keep an eye on it.

That is excellent!! Now if someone would put them up for a 91 metro.

You know the deal, time to quit fishing and start crunching :)

You can start w/0684968626, but it is a total swag. If the saturn is any indication, it should only take a couple trips to the gas station to get it dialed in.

P.S. I made a trip to grandmas house, 9 miles away, managed 65mpg with three passengers in the saturn, :) Armed only with a stick shift, a kill switch, and an mpguino.

65mpg in a saturn  Hit 57 in the metro and was happy now I do need one of these.

Hi,

By my math, the Saturn got 43mpg.

dcb 07-28-2008 09:51 PM

Yup, 43mpg for the tank, That's my wife driving :) 18 miles of the tank were at 65mpg (assuming this thing is accurate), that's me driving ;)

I filled up the saturn today:
guino:
288.28 miles
6.71 gal
42.96 mpg

car/pump:
288.2 miles
6.568 gal
43.879mpg

so a %2 discrepency in mpg this tank, course it was a different person doing the fillup.

I need to test the recent vss changes though so I have to cut off fuel testing on this tank (or make the trips editable).
